Tonight we went to the fundraising dinner for the Young Women in the Ward we just moved from. It was a chili cook-off, and I brought a pot of chili to contribute. I really didn’t care to be in the competition. I just wanted to support the girls and their leaders. I was asked what my chili was called, and my response was, “Uh…??? Chili?” They wouldn’t accept that so I just threw out “Rip Snortin’ Good Chili.”
Turns out my chili won the “People’s Choice” award! And they gave me a great cookbook as a prize.
I think I had a lot of fans, mostly in the 12-to-17-year-old female category. Such sweet girls. So hard to say good-bye.
