Four Months

My baby is four (and-a-half) months old.  Nineteen weeks.  I was 19 weeks along in my pregnancy the day we found out he was a boy.  The day everything changed.  It’s always amazing to me how quickly time passes when I’m NOT pregnant!

Stats from his check-up today:

Weight: 11 pounds, 7 ounces (up 4+ pounds from birth, continuing his trend of about 1 pound per month)

Height:  23.5 inches

He’s getting really good at grabbing onto toys, blankets, hair…anything he can get those cute little hands on!

(He’s not in a cage.  This is just my attempt at something to hang toys from.  It looks weird, but it works.  Just sayin’…)

He sleeps through the night almost without exception.  He rarely cries.  He’s content and happy most of the time.  Perfection.

I still just love to hold and snuggle him.  I’d do it all day long if I could get away with it.  It does my heart good to gaze into his deep blue eyes and smell his head and feel him cuddled up against me.

Have I mentioned that I’m dreading the moment I have to hand him over for surgery next week?  I’m thankful to know I’m not the one in charge.  This is a battle that I can’t fight, and I’m happy to let the Lord fight this one.  Whatever happens, I know He’s the one in charge and it will all be OK.

And what a clever idea for hanging toys! I hope you don't mind that I'm planning to steal it!
